We are delighted to announce that Patagonia are back at the Sportfish Reading Show in 2018 and, in addition to displaying their current range of clothing, waders and bags, will be showing their film Una – The One in the lecture area of the main marquee on both days.
Una – The One
Like many others of Europe’s last free flowing rivers in the Balkan region, the Una is in permanent danger of being destroyed by a series of hydro dams. It is one of the few last rivers in the world with a healthy, wild hucho (Danube salmon) population and it is an amazing fishery.
For Bosnian guide Anes Halkic, the Una is not just a river, it is his life, and in Una – The One we follow him in his fight against dams while searching for hucho on the fly with Austrian guides Christof Menz and Uwe Rieder.
You can view a clip of the film below:
Christof Menz will be present at the screenings to both introduce the film and to answer any questions. Christof is the Patagonia sales representative for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He studied sports science and has worked in conjunction with various companies in the fly fishing sector since 1997 and works as a full time professional guide and course instructor, accompanying fly fishermen onto waters all over the world.
Wye & Usk Foundation
Representatives from the Wye & Usk Foundation will also be present with the Patagonia team over the course of the show weekend, to talk about how grant aid from the Patagonia has assisted with their conservation efforts.
